In a world desperate to remove the risk of trial and suffering at the expense of truly living, we should be reminded of the great value of adversity. Anybody can succeed in the absence of adversity. Doing so in the face of it is what makes something truly great. And it’s what can transform us into something truly great, also.
Every step taken in suffering is an opportunity to share in the sufferings of Christ. It’s an opportunity to be sanctified.
