It’s sad that the beauty of the priesthood is so under-appreciated in America these days.  Everyone focuses on what priests give up and miss entirely the greatness that they gain.  Many such people have never actually met a priest or spent time getting to know one.

Anyone who has spent time getting to know a passionate priest or religious knows what I’m talking about because you’ve experienced it.  They have a peace that we all desire on some level.  And every one of our vocations is a gift of that very peace.  But the priesthood expresses it and lives it out in a unique, special way.
