Barack Obama

President Obama has continually told us that the health care legislation will not federally fund/subsidize abortion. Not only that, but he has repeatedly criticized others as “bearing false witness” and spreading misinformation when they insisted he wasn’t telling the truth.

It has been quite clear that any of the serious legislation in congress up to this point has in fact covered federally funded abortions. And not just the status quo provided for in the Hyde Amendment – but it has pushed the abortion agenda aggressively further.

Up until now, Obama may have been able to technically hide behind the fact that all of the legislation in congress wasn’t “his plan”. [Keep Reading]

OSLO — President Obama won the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize on Friday in a stunning decision designed to encourage his initiatives to reduce nuclear arms, ease tensions with the Muslim world and stress diplomacy and cooperation rather than unilateralism. [full story]

If the Nobel Committee had anything left to lose, they just lost it. There have been zero concrete results from anything Obama has done that merit a “peace” prize. The world is upside down.

Do you know how many living saints there are in this world that are out doing amazing real work for peace that could and should be recognized and promoted with an award like this?

The Nobel prize is far too often just a popularity contest for liberal ideologues. It’s a political tool, not an honest award.  And it’s the ultimate act of worship by the liberal world elite of their golden children.  What a joke and a sadness that something once so respected has lost any real meaning.  Congratulations, Barack, a small committee of secular, elitist “progressives” somewhere in the world really love you.

Obama misleads the Pope?

Thumbnail image for Obama misleads the Pope?

I haven’t gotten to follow up as much as I’ve wanted to on the meeting between Obama and Pope Benedict.  Another related important story is how Obama’s health care plan includes a lot of federal (your) money to pay for abortions.  The following article by Deal Hudson hits on both:  Did President Obama mislead the [...]

Catholic Faithful 65, Fr. Jenkins 0

So far 65 Bishops of the 195 U.S. Dioceses have spoken out against Fr. Jenkins’. Every single one of them were critical of Jenkins’ decision to invite Obama to Notre Dame graduation commencement and to award him with an honorary degree.  In 65 different ways they’ve basically said “this was a bad/wrong decision that [...]

100 Days of Death

Obama has been a busy guy over his first 100 days of his presidency.  And he’s definitely had a lot of tough challenges thrown on his plate.  Amazingly, on top of being able to spend the most money in the history of the world during one of our worst economies, he hasn’t forgotten at all [...]

Fr. Jenkins: Choose your Church or your new chum, Barack

Ok, as if it wasn’t already obvious that Fr. Jenkins inviting Obama as a commencement speaker at Notre Dame this year and awarding him an honorary degree was a huge mistake, I’m not sure it can get much clearer now.

Say it with a Red Envelope

I’ve had a number of people tell me about this really neat project called The Red Envelope Project.  It’s a worthy project and is a neat, effective, peaceful way to begin to express the outrage most Americans feel about Abortion and any actions that disrespect the dignity of human life.

Is Notre Dame Not Ashamed?

Growing up, Notre Dame was my favorite university. I don’t know why really. I think mostly because I loved their football team and, later, the movie Rudy.
It wasn’t because I was Catholic at all, which would have been perhaps legitimate. And being born and raised a Texican, allegiance to a school north [...]

Everyone against abortion, raise your hand

It is truly unreal (like I can’t fathom it) to me that so many Americans vote for politicians who think this is ok. This is not exaggeration or hyperbole to make a point. They literally believe that what you see in this video should continue to be allowed to happen in our country.

Human Sacrifice in America Today?

Some of these politiscientethical issues our country is facing right now drive me bananas.  And most of what drives me bananas is how ideologically driven they are.  It’s unfortunate.  And unfortunately, human lives are at stake.
Human lives are at stake in that we are dealing with possible cures that will save lives.  But they are [...]

From One Bad Catholic To Another

Since Daschle wasn’t cuttin’ it, Obama has made a new nomination for Secretary of Health and Human Services. Unfortunately, it’s probably even more disappointing than Daschle.
Given Obama’s staunchly pro-abortion political history, we should expect to get a “pro-choice” person in this position in his cabinet. That’s the sad truth. This is what [...]

What NBC Doesn’t Want You To See

CatholicVote.com wants to run an ad for the Super Bowl that makes one, simple, honest point that every human can agree on. That’s what makes this ad so powerful.
And that’s exactly why NBC rejected it.  They claim that they are not interested in advertisements involving “political advocacy or issues.”  Sure they aren’t.

Good Fridays: New video, new channel, new president

March for Life
Tens of thousands (perhaps more) showed up to march on Washington and demand real change.  And even though the press every year largely tries to pretend it didn’t happen – it’s good.

I was honored to have my book review of “The Fathers” (by Pope Benedict XVI) featured on the front page [...]

MSM and Obama Disrespect Unborn as Expected

Obama is set to sign an executive order today lifting the ban on U.S. federal aid for abortions. This is no surprise.
Reagan originally put this ban in place in 1984. It essentially restricted organizations who receive U.S. funds from using that money to then perform or promote abortions with it. In other [...]

And the Battle Begins

The battle lines are already forming as the pro-life and pro-family community brace themselves for the Obama administration.
Last week the US Conference of Catholic Bishops released a letter to Obama with concerns for his proposed agenda. Looking to build on all of his campaign rhetoric of unity and coming together, they articulated some very [...]

The 50 Million Missing Man March

I’m very proud of our country in a lot of ways today.  In many ways we needed somebody to help us believe in ourselves again.  We needed to believe that “Yes we can.”  And it’s not a yes we can do this…or yes we can do that.  It’s just this general sentiment that nobody seems [...]
