Some additional photos from the March at http://wrb.posterous.com/?page=1

These are iPhone shots, so the quality isn't as good as yours. Also, I didn't duplicate your shots from the rally across from the courthouse.

Hey! I was there, too. Sorry I didn't see you amongst the other thousands and thousands of people. :)

I was one of the Knights of Columbus "road guards" -- my place was up near the front of the procession, a little behind the color corps. From my point of view, I have to wonder if the Dallas Morning News even actually had anyone there.

Channel 5 did a very short piece on the march on their evening news, but I didn't see it. And of course, no one will ever hear a peep about this or about the national march this week on the national news. The last thing they want to do is to acknowledge that there are millions of pro-life supporters out there.

Many of us who were road guards also prayed at the Winter 40 Days for Life on Sunday morning at the new late-term abortion center on Greenville Ave. Lots of horn honks and waves. Some "friendly" and some ... not so much.

Keep it up. Sooner or later, the media will have to notice us. A great many drivers in downtown Dallas Saturday already have.

Our group, New Wave Feminists for Life (two of our members are in your video: one with a sign reading The Strong Choose Life, the other Empowered By Birth) took the counterprotester with us to lunch after the march. One of our members, Jackie, who must have more grace than the rest of us, brought her there. We didn't know who she was. She was only 18 and talked a lot about Food Not Bombs and being a vegan. She seemed a little loopy and misguided but sweet. We asked her if she was protesting the march and she sort of seemed to say no without saying no. Now that I know that she was definitely a counterprotester, I am so proud of Jackie for bringing her. What a powerful witness to the the fact that the love of Christ infuses our cause. I think Liz (that's her name) was able to see us as real people with love in our hearts, not just "anti-choice religious fanatics."

PS - I love how the local news follows these things. This is the only headline on Dallas News covering the march: "Anti-abortion activists rally in downtown Dallas; crowd appears to fall short of 10,000 goal."

Ha.

And then we have this "objective, fact-seeking" statement: "At least 2,500 people attended today's pre-march Mass at the Cathedral. Many others who didn't attend the Mass showed up for the march. But the overall crowd appeared likely to fall well short of the 10,000 goal."

I just love what they choose to focus on :) Sigh.
