In case it wasn’t already clear

Not only is it a tired argument, it is now an old, tired argument.  There is no way a Catholic can justify voting for Barack Obama.  Period.  Anybody claiming otherwise under the current circumstances is in direct contradiction with the Church, it’s constant teaching, and the Truth.

The bishops have tried to say this in as loving of a way as possible.  But yet there are still people out there trying to rationalize voting for Barack Obama.  Other bishops have come out and tried to further clarify.  And still, we have Catholics that just don’t get it.

Instead of conforming their conscience and politic to the morals of the Church, they continue to try and twist Church teaching to fit their own ideology.  In other words, they get it totally backwards.

I do believe there are some Catholics out there that have been gravely misled and honestly just don’t realize that voting for Barack Obama is in direct contradiction with their Faith.  They are voting their conscience, but it is a badly formed conscience.

And whether it is badly formed due to their own laziness or due to bad catechesis on the part of those around them, we must lovingly help educate and inform each other of the Truth.
